Intel has announced new Solid State Drives Intel SSD 910 Series 400 GB and 800 GB.Drives have an interface PCI Express which provides high speed data access.
Intel 910 series drives provide higher performance storage system,a longer service life and exceptional reliability,it is very important for demanding data center applications. Technology drives support Intel High Endurance and are based on a multi level flash memory NAND,designed for 25-nm manufacturing process, which allows for up to 10 complete cycles, records a day for 5 years and increase service life by 30 times compared to standard flash drives.
In the line of SSD 910 Series includes products with a capacity of 400 and 800 GB.For older model speed sequential read and write data up to 2 and 1Gb/s. Disks can carry up to 180 thousand I / O operations per second (IOPS) in any mode to read data in blocks of 4 KB and 75 thousand in the recording mode. The new models support the 400 GB and 800 GB. Product samples are available for evaluation in the data center.
For ease of comparison, new products and specifications previously issued by SSD making enterprise class offering you a little summary table.
Intel SSDs 910 series extends the range of Intel products for data centers as part of the family drives 900 interface support PCIe.The family of drives incorporates the Intel 900 other solutions for data centers, including the Intel 700 family of drives with SATA interface and support for technology High Endurance and the family drives Intel 300 with interface SATA,intended for use in servers and storage systems.
Intel SSDs 910 series Model 400 GB capacity is estimated by the manufacturer at $ 1929,with a capacity of 800GB changed proportionally more expensive and costs $ 3859. Deliveries will start Intel SSDs 910 series of drives in the second half of 2012.
